I’ve always been a fan of the skirt suit comeback, I mean following the likes of Eniswardrobe on Instagram, you really can’t escape wishing you have a pair of mini skirt suit in your wardrobe. What I love about the mini skirt suit is how they are more flirty, more feminine and relaxed compared to traditional work suit which makes us look very formal and put together. Skirt suits are also a trend that give off back-to-school vibes which is a good thing for someone like myself who just left school and kinda misses it.

Two piece – TheNaleGirl

Bag – Thrifted

Shoe – ASOS {similar here and here}

I had one major concern about buying a skirt suit, it is the fact that Lagos is too hot for a blazer. This has changed though, the moment I got gifted this pair of skirt suit from TheNaleGirl, a Nigerian urban fashion brand everything turned around. Being a Nigerian brand, I’m sure the creative director put into consideration the heatwave and created this two piece that perfectly mimics the skirt suit and is also weather friendly to Nigerians. I love that even though coming in light fabric, it’s not see through and also pretty structured. I decided to pair this fit with my Chanel shoe dupe from ASOS {that my photographer and friend Seun probably hates because I wonder why he kept cutting them in the photos} to bring the whole look together.

Like I said in this post, I absolutely love me my minis and this year I’m looking at coming out of my comfort zone, showing off my cellulites and exploring all the style options out there that do justice to people like me that are down to earth {read as below 5’5}. I personally think if you are not ready to splurge on a skirt suit, an easy way to get on this trend is to thrift a skirt, ask your tailor to turn the skirt into a mini and save some bucks. Do have a great week ahead.

Love always…
